Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit;

to God who is, who was and who is to come.

Gospel Acclamation, Trinity Sunday; Heritage Missal page 184

Today’s solemnity (as well as the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of the Lord celebrated next Sunday) is sometimes considered an “idea feast” or feat of devotion”. … These days on the calendar do not commemorate a person or an event in the life of either the Lord or his saints.  Rather, they commemorate a theological tenet of the faith or a doctrine/dogmatic belief (e.g. today’s solemnity – the doctrine of the Triune God; one God in three divine persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).

PSR NEWS – MARGO LEWIS - 937-382-1596

Our last Kids for Jesus (K4 J) Sunday program will be on May 18 from 10:45-11:55 am in the Parish Center Basement.  We will have a full hour of K4J activities so plan on coming for our last big gathering.  This program is for children in pre-K, K, and grades 1 through 4; we would appreciate any help from youth ages 12 and up!

Next planning session for K4J will be on Wednesday, May 14th at 6:30 pm.

 High School Seniors!  Please call the PSR office or the church office if you would like information on the Graduation Brunch hosted by the Ladies of the Sacred Heart Sodality.  This lovely event is for graduating seniors from all local high schools and parochial schools.  On June 1st H. S. graduates wear their graduation gowns, attend the 9:30 am Mass, and then join their parents for Brunch in the PCB.  Reservations are required.

Confirmation class of 2009:  Families with children presently completely sixth or seventh grade, and are planning to enroll in the Confirmation Preparation Program MUST contact the PSR office to register for an upcoming meeting for parents and students.  Register for ONE of the following:  June 8th at 10:45 am OR June 10th at 7:30 pm; both meetings will take place in room 11 in the Parish Center Basement.  Participation in the seventh grade curricula is a pre-requisite for Confirmation in the eighth grade.  If your child has not been attending Faith Formation for grade seven, they must complete a series of assignments over the summer months to be prepared for grade eight.

MEMORIAL and/or IN HONOR OF:  The PSR Lending Library is looking to expand on the various categories of books, tapes, CDs & DVDs for all age levels.  In order to do so, we need assistance from the Parish!  Consider this idea as a way to build our library:  Donate a book (or series of books) in honor of or in memory of a loved one!  There are many, many wonderful and beautiful books about the Church, apologetics, saints, scripture, history, etc. to choose from and it would be a meaningful way to help our Parish.  Donations could range from $10.00 to $100.00, depending on the selection and personal interest. Suggestions and catalogs can be obtained from the PSR office.  There is great potential for a very good lending library; we just need some assistance from our faithful parishioners!

Please remember in your prayers Peggy Long, sister of Pat Arzsman; and Alfreda Chandler, aunt of several parishioners, both died recently.  May they find eternal peace with the Risen Lord.

Sacred Heart Sodality May meeting will be May 13, 2008 at 7 PM at Cape May.  This will be a mother daughter tea, price is $6.00 per person.  Note Date and Place change.

ADULT EDUCATION
MAY 12, 2008 following the 5:00 PM Mass at StC
We will watch a DVD, Questions and Answers of the Catholic Faith, a panel discussion lead by Jeff Cavins with panel members Scott Hahn, Fr. Bill Casey, Alex Jones and Steve Ray.  All of the above except Fr. Casey were Protestant Ministers that converted to Catholicism.  We will meet in the Parish Center.  We are invited to share the food from the Youth meeting for  a dollar.

Faith Enrichment at HNC
The next session of the Women’s Faith Enrichment at HNC will be held on Monday, May 19 at 7 PM in the HNCSH.  This is a change from the former Wednesday schedule for sessions.  New participants are welcome.  The topic will be “Introduction to Scripture: Old and New Testament”.  Bring your Bible.  For more info, call Alice at 783-2895 or May Ellen at 783-2450.
